I like the PEC I'm using ahead of my Simple SE. IIRC I went with a 25k, high enough for my sources to drive easily (both DAC and phono stage have cathode follower outputs), but still ~1/10 the input impedance of the amp.

I use Alps 100K for my TubelabSE 300B amp. Works fine for me.
