Nifty little (cheap ) transformer for bias supply

For 2.99 , hard to go wrong . You could use the 72 or 15 volt winding for a bias supply ,or just wind your own secondary for an oddball filament . Mods feel free to move as you see fit

another cheap method is to use a 12vac radio shack bell transformer wired backwards - hook the secondary up to a filament winding on your main power transformer. Use the primary side to get ~55-60VAC.

I've seen this method done to get a bias supply for a power amplifier that was being converted from 'self' to 'fixed' bias.

Looks like the ones used in ancient Jerrold TV top cable boxes.

If it was for a cable box ,what did they use the 72 volt winding for?
