Default Pioneer SM83 PP amps

I`m find on market very old integrated PP amps Pioneer SM83 with 2x7189A (EL84) made 1964. I have speakers Audionote with 92 db. I afraid that be pure powers ( I suppose RMS AB class 5w) for my system. (Price are 250 E). Have anybody suggest or experience or comment? What are core diffirent beetwen 7189A and EL84.

Very similar except the 7189 had a 400V rating for anode voltage while EL84 has a 300V rating.

There is a current production EL84M which I believe has higher anode voltage ratings.

I run EL84 at around 350V all the time without trouble.

I'm fairly sure I have a scan of the SM83 schematic but the file is way too big to post here.

Send me an email if you need the schematic.

Cheers,
Ian

Ian is correct. The Russian 6П14П-ЕВ (6p14p-ev), AKA EL84M, is a genuine 7189 equivalent. Decent sonics come with the "Russkie", along with toughness. Use 'em in the vintage amp, with complete confidence.
