Hi, everyone. . I am considering a 6L6 SE after finishing my 12ax7 pream. . ... Can someone give me a recommendation or suggestion? many thanks.

My suggestion is that since you have a very high gain preamp, that you don't need a high gain driver. Instead, the power amp should have a overall gain that is quite low. Try a 12b4 as a driver, or perhaps a 6t4 if you want a little more gain.

Yes. . that 12ax7 preamp is not for me. for my friend... I have no more.... so ...that why I am considering about 6L6 SE because of mostly people said it is in great sound and also easy to build... ....is it true..

Consider the one shown in JC Morrison's Fi Primer with an EF86/6SJ7 pentode driving a 6L6/807 in UL. Nice sound. Do a search on "fi primer".
