Hi,
Does anyone know where I might be able to locate the goldpin version of the LM Ericsson 2C51/396A tube? I have been searching for a while and most of them are the nickel pins version. Help please... Thanks. |

Any reason for why you want one made by LM Ericsson? This tube was made by LM Ericsson under license from Western Electric and it is essentially an exact copy.
I don't know how rare the original Western Electric 396A tubes are, but they might be easier to find in the US and Canada. LM Ericsson tubes are very good, but also quite hard to come by unless you live in Sweden or northern Europe (and even then it's not always that easy). |

Cauhtemoc, thanks for the reply.
For all the 2c51/396a tubes that I've listened to so far, the LM Ericsson is the best one. I guess it's because of the type of music I listen to, the WE396a can not be compared to it. From what I heard the early goldpin version is even more low noise than the nickel pins I have (I have some 2c51 and some 5670) Some photo I just took for my old Paradisea ![]() ![]() Thanks again Cauhtemoc, much appreciated. |
