What to swap a 6AV6 for?

I would have thought you should be able to get 6AV6 from any of your US Suppliers.
If NOT then OZ supplier has them although price is about US$10 each.

The 6AV6 is a triode + dual diode, That is, it is a high Mu Triode with 2 additional "diode" plates (anodes). The characteristics of the Triode are identical to each half of a 12AX7. You often see 6AV6 in older guitar amps, particularly in some Japanese Amps like Tiesco. They use the triode section and just leave the 2 diode plates unconnected.

Tubelab is correct in that a 6AT6 should work.

An EBC91 is also the same thing if you see that weird number show up on anyones listings.
