As you can see by the link there are just about a million different schematics available for the 2A3....you have a very popular tube & the possibilities are endless.
What is it you would like to build with your 2A3....something simple?...Or something complex? Have you constructed any other type of audio equipment before? Do you have any formal training in electronics? Are you aware of the cost of building an amp.....even if you do it yourself? Just trying to help you out here, OK? ___________________________________________Rick... ... |

Would suggest you have them tested to ensure they are good working tubes before you go down the path and expense to put together an amplifier for them. In general, NOS 2A3 tubes can cost quite a bit and not all are equal. A single 2A3 in SET operation can deliver from 3.0-4.5 watts depending on the design and operating parameters.

Not trying to take over the thread, but help me understand - on the schematic by Shishido (sorry, don't know how to post it here, but it's in the above link), what is the reason for the 22k 3W resistor? Looks like it just provides a PS shunt to ground, back through the 2A3 cathode resistor. Does this do more? Why not just drop it right to ground instead of through the 2A3 cathode R?
Thanks! |
