Red face Fake electrolytics?

Hi all!

I just got some EPCOS 470uF/450V electrolytics.
I tried searching EPCOS website but it looks like this series number B43503 does not exist!
So, what do you guys think, fake or not?

See if the specs for your cap match the physical size from EPCOS or another manufacturer. A while ago someone posted pics of some fake caps and they were physically small compared to a real one. In fact inside the small case was an even smaller cap!

Hehehe I dont plan on opening mine, but I really hope there isnt a 100uF 200V cap inside it!
I'll compare the size with similar epcos caps....

Apparently size is the same as a genuine 470uF/450V cap: 35mmx50mm.
The thing is these caps were pretty cheap, and to make things worse there is no mention to them anywhere on the web.

usually only retail products are published.
For customs products you wouldn't find any data.
Anyway the S&M (now EPCOS) B43503 datasheet ends with 330u/450V.
Maybe your local EPCOS bureau can tell you, if this could be a custom part.
regards

Where did you find the B43503 datasheet? I couldnt locate it anywhere...
I got these caps from a guy that has no idea where they came from. He got a box full of them and is selling them out cheap...

I can only measure for capacitance. They do measure around 430uF, but that doesnt really mean they are real EPCOS caps.
