Amp and Speakers decision

Thanks to everyone for your kind help and suggestions. I think I have decided and would love to hear your thoughts.
The big problem for me was speakers, and then I realized that I have these old Arcams that I can modify. So here's what it looks like: S.E.X. amp and Audio Nirvana 6.5 in my old Arcams. David at Common Sense Audio was extremely helpful in explaining how to adapt the old cabinets. Now I just need a decent CD player (any suggestions) a phono pre-amp kit and a turntable (sadly, I sold my dad's beautiful Thorens from the 60s before I knew any better.)
