I'm thinking either a 25K or a 50K. Thoughts?

It depends on the source driving the attenuator. 50k is probably the safest bet.

I agree with the 50 KOhm suggestion. Very few upstream sources find 50 KOhms "unfriendly", while the value is low enough not to adversely interact with the Miller and cable capacitances.

Thank you for the replies fellows. I'm going to be buying one of the Goldpoint stereo attenuators but I wasn't completely sure what value to order.
