H. P. Friedrichs

Has anyone ever read these two books by H. P. Friedrichs?

The Voice of the Crystal
and
Instruments of Amplification

Apparently there is a lot of info on rolling your own caps and even making your own tubes and transistors. Figured they were worth a look but want to know if anyone else has taken a gander. Lindsay Books sells them and I've always liked the technical manuals I've gotten from them.

I guess no one here has read it. I figure I'll order it anyways as it is pretty cheap. I'll make a post in this topic afterwards if it is worth it for other people to get.
