Default XPP amp

Tube Cad has a little discussion of the XPP amp circuite. It looks like a depletion mode mosfet like the dn2540n5 would be easy to
use for the output stage but what would the output impedience be? The original circuite discription calls for using the plate resistance in the output resistance calculation does a mosfet
have a similar rating to plate resistance? I just thaught it might
be neat for a headphone amp.

The circuit depends on the bottom tubes having the same Mu factor or voltage gain, so their plate voltages track. So a Mosfet output will not work without big changes. (a Mosfet having a high output Z like a pentode, and very high Mu effectively) You could replace the top tubes with depletion mode Mosfets readily.
