 27th May 2008, 11:54 AM #2 Merlinb   diyAudio Member     Join Date: May 2006 Location: Lancashire Coupling caps must have a voltage rating greater than the supply voltage (HT). Because, if the valve reaches cut-off, or if it is not plugged in, or if the cathode is not warm, the anode voltage will rise to the supply voltage. I suspect your 200V capacitors will not be sufficient, however, it may be possible to connect two in series to raise the voltage rating...

Then 200V will be OK on normal resistor loaded stages. (But not choke loaded stages- but I don't think you have one of those.)
