Hello,
I've got so much money tied up on my transformers and tubes, I don't want to mess anything up. . Otherwise, I'd just experiment w/out asking questions.

So, just to be sure.
If my output transformer primary is 3k, and I want it to act like it's 6k, I would connect my 8 ohm speakers to the 4 ohm tap?

I just want to make sure I don;t have it backwards.

thanks!

I am no expert, but I think that this is termed reflected load. If you had an 4 Ohm speaker on the 4 Ohm tap, the reflected load to the output valve would be 3K. Therefore if you double the load on the secondary to 8 Ohm, the load reflected to the output valve would also be doubled - to 6K.

So yes, I think you are correct.

Chris
