Manufacturer IXYS Manufacturer Part Number DSEI12-12A Description DIODE FRED 1200V 11A TO-220AC Digikey and mouser are out of them until mid June... Is there a substitute from mouser or allied that is just as good? |

Any FRED diode that is rated for 1200 volts or more will work. Other TO220 packaged diodes with a "fast recovery" or "soft recovery" characteristic will also work.
I have used the IXYS DSEI 20-12A and the IR HFA06TB120PBF (now made by Vishay) before.

Thanks George...
Is there any problem with using this resistor for R7 from mouser instead of the panasonic one from digikey. https://www.mouser.com/Search/Produc...-MO2LT631R104J It's bigger, but it looks like the lead spacing will just fit. I just don't want to use a part that will degrade the sound. |

It's same value and same type (metal oxide). I don't see why it wouldn't do the job just as well.

I was in the same situation over the weekend, and I decided to order p/n 747-DSEI12-10A. This has nearly the same specs as the 747-DSEI12-12A, the only differences being:
10A 12A ------ ------ Vfwd 2.1V 2.2V Pdsp 75W 78W Vrev 1000V 1200V Are these specs not acceptable? I noticed that Mr. Tubelab mentioned a reverse voltage of 1200V... Should I order the DSEI20-12A instead? Thanks, Eddie |
