5718 subminiture tube?

Is the 5718 tube good for anything or should I throw it in the trash?

Fairly nice plate curves. Could be used as a preamp tube, or even a little PP headphone amp.

I have a few hundred of them, so sooner or later I will find something to do with them. They can be stuffed into an 8 pin round (to-5 style) op-amp IC socket so that you can change tubes.

Maybe. I an thinking about building a vacuum tube guitar preamp right into the guitar, so a high mu tube may be useful. I have a box with about 500 assorted sub mini tubes I will check what is in the box when I get home. I know that there are some pentodes, and dual triodes but I don't remember any numbers right now.

I was thinking that submini's would make nice tubes for phono preamps and output stages of CD players.
