Default Highest Practical Primary Z in OPT?

Does anyone have a guess as to what the highest practical primary impedance would be in a small signal, parafeed, output transformer? I would like to transformer couple something like a 6SL7 -- either with a high Z CCS load, or perhaps as a SRPP to lower Zout a little-- and trade all the gain for current. Is this reasonable to do?

Since you're parafeeding, I know that UTC makes some 15 & 30K primaries (split) in the HA and LS series. And you could reverse some of the other input types that have up to 100K (split). Trouble is, they're expensive as hell these days. Maybe Jensen has something cheaper.
