It's sure a nice simple circuit. I built a 300B powered amp a few months ago and it sounds great. Mine is more conventional and it uses two coupling caps. I really think that the reason amps like this sound good is because the circuit is incredibly simple and thus transparent. I feel the same way about guitar amps, simple is best.
