The curves Ive seen on datasheets were indeed slightly different. The LS50 took a little more bias to run at 80ma 400V than did the GU50. YMMV. Possibly idealized curves on a datasheet are not necessarily the same as curves from the actual samples you are using.

It's written in Russian, but I guess you can read the graph (where 'B' means 'V' like in Volt - 'BAX' means btw Volt/Ampere-Characteristics).

Any one know if the OPT for KT88 can be directly used as OPT for GU-50 ( both SE and PP)? Thanks.

I have run GU50 on 5K anode load. That's my kind of answer.
Two gu50 in parallell shoudl be 2K5.

Much notice must be paid to the fact that g2 doesn't take more than approx. 250V.
