Default Differences with 6C33 Tube Types

Folks,

Are there any audible differences (in the same circuit) between the different 6C33 tube types, i.e.

6S18S (6C18C)
6S33S (6C33C)
6C41C (6S41S)

Also, what about the 6C33C-B and 6C33C-V versions?

TIA,

-- josé k.

there's no -B, they're all -V.

V looks like B in cyrillic. 6S33S-V = 6C33C-B. morons like to mix and match and make up things that don't exist, though.

There is 6c33c and 6c33c-B. They are the same, but the tolarances are tighter on the 6c33c-B.

The 6C18C should be a drop in replacement for the 6c33c, but the construction is slightly different, so there should be an audible difference in most circuits. These tube types are rare, and very few people have got to mess with them.

The 6C41C is electrically like half a 6c33c. But the construction is not the same as cutting a 6c33c in half. Its internal structure looks more like a shrunken 6c33c. So it probably won't sound identical to running half a 6c33c.

This page is in German, which I don't happen to speak or read very well at all. Regardless, I still learned a lot about the different markings on Russian tubes.

You don't need to know much German at all to tell he likes the 6C33C.
