Cathode stripping in low voltage tubes

How dangerous should it be to apply +6 to +30VDC to a plate of a tube with no heater? Should this cause cathode striping as with high voltages?

I'm talking about spacecharge tubes during the first 11 seconds while it warms up. Is there a need for a standby switch or a timer/relay (with SS rectifier) at all? I wanted to make some field tests but before I'll get to destroying tubes I wanted to hear from someone more experienced than I (which means everybody here).

I guess in worst case it may cause some very minor cathode stripping but if it has no effect than why bother?

Not an issue.

I don't think that the car radios that used these tubes used a B+ delay circuit...
