Hi all,

pictures of my newest creation;
the Jerrycan amp ! :D

Schematic by Aleksandar Kitic, known as his RH34SE

First sounds are quite promissing !
especially in the bass department.

....will report about the sound in a few weeks....

There's nothing to complain about your skill or craftsmanship. I imagine the amplifier itself sounds rather good. But, can I send you some aluminum plate and some oiled walnut to build a more attractive chassis? I'm not convinced the big patches of worn paint and light rust really add artistic value...

Brilliant amp for a rev-head. A great idea.
Very cool.

now for the safety bit.

CUTTING A USED FUEL CONTAINER IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!
even if the lid is open or its full of water or something.
if there is an air bubble inside, and the heat from the cutting sweats some hydrocarbons out it can explode with amazing force.
I know a guy who was repairing a tank that he filled with water, guess what, air bubble, the tank exploded throwing the cutting tool into his face, a broken nose, lacerations and 2nd degree burns to his arms, face and stomach.

Sorry for the capitals and the lecture but this is very important.

If the flaking paint is not to your liking I have seen chrome plated ones available. The added benefit of using a brand new one is you're more likely to have ears left to listen to it with. :D

Thank you all for your nice comments !!

Speakers out of 55gal. cans ?!
hehehehe, you get me onto idea's....

Is that a globe 80 for the rectifier?

The rectifier is a RGN1064 mesh by telefunken
EL34's and ECC's are telefunken aswell

I was VERY lucky in buying some scrap amps...
One of them contained these '63 Telefunkens
:att'n: they all measure like new :att'n:

now is that a lucky find or what !?

Cheers,

Empee
