There are also the big 9-pin types, 6DN3 for one. A pair of those could supply a half an amp( that's short for Ampere, not part of an amplifier ). It will drop only 14V at 350 mA of plate current, so you could build a 700 mA PS with a pair of these...

Svetlana's 6D22S TV damper diodes seem pretty good. They tolerate up to 600v heater-cathode, making them versatile. These are in current production.
The only downsides are that they are single diodes, they use a top cap for the cathode and they use the 9-pin magnoval socket, which is octal-size but can be hard to find.
