After a comparison test of my 300B SE amp and Phase Linear Solid State 200W amp, I came up with an idea of Singled Ended Tube Amp which could match with the solid state's performance.
This concept of this Single Ended amplifier configuration is based on the criteria the following:- - Maximize the damping factor by having separate OPT for each output tube. - Maintain high primary inductance and power capacity of the output transformer for best low frequency performance. Probably Push Pull configuration may achieve the same result but I just want to maintain the spirit of Single Ended amplifier. Any thoughts and comments?? Johnny |

This is just a thought. I could use paralleled 5842 to drive the two 300B's or 2A3.
I understand the sound quality will probably worsen but it will get me the power and damping factor to compete with the solid states. Johnny |
