I have and old HP and a B&K function generator. Both have too much harmonic distortion. Neither of them have a sweep function (other than me turning the knob!)

Any recommendations for a nice audio generator with sweep? Something that puts out a really good sine wave?

thanks

As mentioned in the linked thread, a PC based signal generator produce very good (low distortion) signals in the audio band (20-20K)

I use ARTA fo ra lot of amplifier and speaker measurements.
Some good stand-alone signal generator and other utilities can be found at Svante's page: http://www.speech.kth.se/smptool/

I also find that my old HP signal generator has surprisingly high distrortion with a lot of higher harmonics in the audio band, but is handy when I need higher frequencies and 10KHz square waves etc.
