Default Dumb question.

When you are looking at the curves on a datasheet and see the words "plate voltage" are they talking about the voltage from the plate to earth or the voltage from plate to cathode, thus excluding the voltage the cathode resistor is dropping? Sorry to ask such a trivial question but it makes a difference when calculating operating points.

From plate to cathode.
