OK.
Other than the obvious difference in basing (the 6JN6 is duodecar, the 6JB6 novar), is there ANY significant difference between the 6JN6 and 6JB6? I'm thinking of cloning a Berning EA-230... which originally uses 6JN6 tubes... however, I have BUNCHES of 6JB6s, and very few 6JN6s. I also have a quad of Novar sockets... that's a plus. I've compared what I can find for spec sheets, side by side... and for all the alignments I can find that match (voltages, currents, etc), the tubes look virtually identical, except for very minor differences in element capacitance (and the 6JB6 actually looks lower than the 6JN6, a tad). Anyone found any differences between the two, in either practice or in spec sheets? Thanks! Regards, Gordon.

A wide variety of sweep tubes will work in that circuit, including the 6JB6. It's an interesting and in some ways very innovative circuit, which I've copied shamelessly.
Good luck!
