It is trendy in these days to build a high voltage and low current regulated power supply for tube amplifer with solid devices. Actually we have many options at hand when choosing the main regulating device, an IC, a bipolar, a JFET or a MOS. Let's factor IC out. If you want to build such a regulated power supply, which active device you prefer to use as the main regulating device, Bipolar, JFET or MOS?

Any hint will be highly appreciated.
 
Please give some analysis.

Some convincing facts will be very useful for me to understand your preference.

For example, noise level, frequency response, and the switching speed (for transient response), etc. and any other parameters that you think to be very important for an optimal tube amplifier power supply.
