Hello!
I've got 2 unused Telefunken EL156. Anyone got a good, simple circuit using only one 156 per channel? Any other suggestions? Cheers, Tom |

Hi,
EL156? Wow,that's a rare tube. If you have only a pair of them I would rather not put them to service though. They should fetch very good money on the market. All the circuits I've seen used them in PP, maybe Klangfilm used them in SE. I'll try to find you some info. Cheers,

Hello ,
Frank is correct , sell them ! This sort of valve sells for megabucks in Japan and Taiwan but especially in Hong Kong . My advice is : find someone local with a valve tester , have them checked . List them on Ebay with a modest reserve and wait for the cash to come in ! 316a |

I'm amazed; have you found the sockets for them?
And what happens when you need a replacement? I'm surprised that EL156 is so rare. After all KT88 was a big success here in England and it seems strange that EL156 should not be relatively plentiful in its native Germany. 7N7

Boergars at HiFi-forum is organising a groupbuy and has arranged a pair of new EL156 with octal sockets for me.
I have a few schematics, but before I leave my corsetry sewing I just wanted to know if you managed to do anything with your EL156s? How much power is it possible to squeeze of a tube in SE? Can I expect some more if I run it in UL-mode?

Notice that this thread is old, but why start a new one when there is an old one with a question I have to repeat.
My question; can I marry an EL156 to a 5K transformer?? Data: EL156.pdf Some of the VERY few schematics found: F2a schematic EL156SE
