KT88 or 6550

Hi,

anyone can help to recommend a good reissue KT 88 or 6550 tube. i am using it for my PP integrated amp.
have heard the Chinese and EH, sweetness is not there. heard a lot about Tung-sol, Winged C and Gold lion reissue. anyone can share some comments.

I think the EH's are very good. Try the Svet winged C or JJ (no experience with latter)

I have both the Winged C 6550s and the Gold Lion reissue. They're both nice tubes. I find that for my taste, in the current system set up I have, that I prefer the Gold Lions. The Winged C 6550s are a powerful tube, more pronounced in the high end; a bit in your face, at least in my system. The Gold Lions are more laid back so, to my ears, they sound a bit more detailed and dynamic.

how about Tung-sol? i heard that the Gold Lion got some reliability issue. do you experience it? thanks.

As far as I've heard the New Sensor Gold Lion reissue tubes have no reliability issues.

Try doing a search over at Audio Asylum. Lots of people saying they like this tube, no reported problems that I've come across.
