Default Hickok 752A repair

My dads tube tester(kickok 752A) recently went out on him. Everything checks out fine, but it doesn't work. HIm and another guy have reason to beleive it's the transforemer, would anyone happen to know where to get one? I was given the names Dave Nelson and Kara Chaffee, i was told they might be able to help. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi farriswheel,

You haven't given much information. The specs for the transformer would be helpful, as a minimum. A link to the schematic, etc, would be a good idea.

I've repaired a few tube testers. The problems I encountered were usually bad capacitors. It would help a lot to know what they tested, how they tested, and what the measurement results were.

There might be a schematic for that unit at http://www.nostalgiaair.org , and maybe also calibration/alignment info.

Another good discussion group in which to search and ask might be the rec.antiques.radio+phono group, at http://groups.google.com , if the old hands are still around. You might also want to search then ask in the sci.electronics.repair group , there, and maybe the rec.radio.amateur.boatanchors (sp?) group.

Good luck.
