After feasting on all the wonderful Thanksgiving food you can then feast your ears on some outstanding tube audio.
You are cordially invited to the upcoming Vacuum Tube User Group of San Francisco meeting Sunday Nov. 25 1 PM at the Randall Museum 199 Museum Way, San Francisco, CA 94114 (http://www.randallmuseum.org/ABOUTUS...5/Default.aspx) My buddy Alex is hosting this session and will be demonstrating his DIY phonostage based on 6C45-PI and 6H30 tubes. I will bring in my EF804 phono and Dmity may join in with his super-duper phono based on secret Russian tubes. To keep everything in perspective I’ll also bring a DIY octal base Cornet. So what we got brewing here is an impromptu 3 way ultimate DIY phonostage match! Come and participate in a once in a lifetime opportunity to hear world class audio equipment in a fun and casual atmosphere. Besides the DIY phonos the equipment lineup is: Terse Turntable, SME II Improved Arm, Grado Sonata Cartridge (system optimized for the Sonata). DIY EF86 / 804 linestage that won the last club shootout besting a $3K commercial unit. Alex’s highly refined 300b DRD mono block amplifiers (perhaps the best amp I’ve heard to date). Klipsch Chorus speakers with rebuilt xovers done with premium parts by our head honcho Dan. The records will all be audiophile quality including but not limited to LSC-2234 (classic reissue) and Sheffield Lab II. The museum is closed on Sundays but we have access to the auditorium. You can come in from the stage entrance. The stage door is located on the far left of the building complex; you will see a small flight of steps leading to the door. So what are you waiting for - see y’all this Sunday! 33dot33rpm |
