hey-Hey!!!,
You'll need one per 12B4. Suggest using the 'mu' output. The DN2540 cascode is a lot simpler... cheers, Douglas

I looked for the DN2540 stuff that you emailed me about. I could not find it.
Do you have a specific schematic? Easier would be better since this is my first scratch build! Thanks buddy! Evan

thanks euro21!
I think I'll add this, to my 12B4A preamp! I have built it a long time ago and I have never changed the anode // resistors |

Here's another take on a 12B4 with CCS. This is not my work and I apologize to the author for forgetting its origin. Looks interesting.

A completely different type of CCS for 12B4 linestage. Again, not my work and I have not tried it.

hey-Hey!!!,
With the BJT transistors, getting a mu output is not possible. Since regulated current will get split between cathode and output signal, it might be best to use a bypass capacitor on the cathode resistor. Of course, one could switch between plate output and mu output....I suspect that there will be one that works better given the rest of the system... cheers, Douglas
