i am look for a 12v preamp or amp that run s on 500ma or less

The thread Ive listed goes for several pages. The Tubaliser is discussed as well as the scheme I came up as an alternative...
I have used this scheme and am currently using it with the 7586 Nuvistors or the 6C51H-B Russian Equivalent. Works well....

prorms, check out the thread you started about the distortion you were getting on your preamp model. i posted a schematic there for you. even though it says 12AU7, i'm actually using submini 6BF7 dual triodes, which actually have a little bit more gain than a 12AU7. the 6BF7 filaments are wired in series, and draw 200mA, and the preamp itself uses a little more than 1mA. total gain of the circuit is 15 to 20 with only .2% distortion at signal levels below 0.2V. you could do the same with a pair of 12AU7's, but your filaments will draw a bit more current.
