just wondering about your opinions. I'd like to build some kind of triode PP amp but it seems like I have too many options. Here's a list of all the tubes and parts I have, do you see something that immediately stands out as a good idea?
OPT's: 10KCT/8R ~15W, no UL taps (from a Hammond organ) PT's: 35VA Triad isolation transformer (U-mount) Tubes: 8 6S19P's 4 6P9 (6AG7 Equiv.) 6 6AG7 4 12B4's (not well matched) 5 5687 6 5763 (12W noval sweep tube) 2 6SL7 (Russian 6N9S) 4 6P14P (EL84 Equiv.) 2 6AY3 + sockets (damper diodes) 6 6CM7 (1/2 a 6SN7, 1/2 6W triode) 2 6J5 I've also got 2 6SF5's, 2 6SC7's, and 5 or so 6SN7's but I might use the 6SF5's in a rebuild of my monoblocks.. |

For starters:
You will have to use that isolation transformer as a voltage doubler if you want to get any power out of that 10k OPT. So, we will have roughly a 340-310VDC supply to work with. Mmm..will have to give it some thought. Perhaps Class-A push pull 6P14P A guitar amp or mono Hi-Fi? |

I included the isolation transformer as an option for maybe a driver stage or something, especially with a low B+ for the 6S19P's. I'm not averse to buying a separate PT.

well, using as many of them as possible would be nice for monetary reasons

The OPTs suggest the EL84s for the outpit stage. I'm partial to Class A triode with these but you could run in pentode up to the limits of the OPT.
You'll need a filtered 250-300V. And 2 dual triodes for a LTP frontend, a little more tube versatilty with a voltage stage + concertina.... dave
