auto bias on a Quicksilver KT-88 amp

I have read where the newer models of the Quicksilver line sport auto bias that will allow the switch to different tubes without having to mess with bias adjustments. Would this be a good feature to incorporate into my KT-88 mono's? What would be the pro's and con's of this? How hard would it be to perform this modification?

Forget this for your existing amps,if the manufacturer hasn't provided for this from the start it is almost (meaning not practical) impossible to retrofit on existing models having fixed bias.

To clarify Frank's point - it's not hard to wire in a handful of cathode bias resistors - BUT, you may throw off the negative feedback loop(s) if there are any, and you will change the power output and possibly the loadline. Distortion could also be affected.

Most of Mike's amps these days, and for several years past are self-biasing except for the HIGHER priced ones .
