My first amplifier used E/PCL86. With proper OPTs it performs really well. Schematic was pretty standard but modified along the way numerous times. I think it is fixed bias now and has cathode + direct anode feedback or so. The correct value for the OPT is 7k for the 250V-36mA operating Point, not 5k !! I used Reinhöfer (Röhrentechnik.de) 53:00 type for this.
I hardly use the amp now because 4W is a not much Power. It's standing near my workbench in the cellar now and plays a little music/radio when I solder. EMM801 is switched off. It turns you crazy when you see this flickering from the corner of the eye ;)
