Any idea about source for buying small qty (for DIYers). of E I laminations of alloy of nickel + silicon steel (50% each) of sizes EI28 to EI57 (American sizes EI375, EI-21, EI-625) for making chokes and output transformers.

Try magmet.com or tempel.com ... Mag metals supplies most of the nickel lams for the audio trafo industry, tempel apparently makes M6 lams.
Also check out the prodigy-pro forums for info. Great bunch of guys over there and they have lots of transformer winding discussion threads to read.
