Exclamation Etf07

This year the eighth (!) European Triode Festival will (again) be held in Biezenmortel, Holland (http://www.beukenhof.nl/).

ETF07 will be held from Thursday November 29 to Sunday December 2.

As in the previous years all kinds of crazy tube lovers from all over the world will spend 3 days mostly talking, listening and -probably- drinking.

There will be lectures, workshops, shootouts (get your irons ready!), a special guest and lots of other stuff (yes, there will be an auction .. bring lots of gear).

We can handle about 80 participants and SO's (significant others: wife, husband, girlfriend, boyfriend, weekend lover, etc.) in single and double rooms.

The price per person for a double room is EUR 255 and for a single room EUR 285. This price includes dinner on Thursday, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday, brunch on Sunday, coffee and tea during the festival.

As before, previous participants have a first chance to enter. Later the festival will be open for everyone else on a first come, first serve basis.

In order to enter the festival, send a mail to emile_DOT_sprenger_AT_xs4all_DOT_nl with the subject 'ETF07 reservation'.

Please tell us if you want a single or double room and if you're taking a SO along.

We'll confirm your reservation ASAP and inform you of payment details. The reservation is final after we receive your payment.

If you don't get a confirmation by September 1, your mail may have been caught in the spam filter. In that case, try sending a mail to Guido_AT_TentLabs_DOT_com

As we finalise the details and planning of the festival, we'll send out a mail with further information.

Regarding the shootout:

This year it will be tube power amps.

The rules are VERY simple, the amps taking part in the competition should at least contain ONE tube with a THORIATED TUNGSTEN heater/filament. The tube must be ACTIVELY taking part in the circuit (i.e. the tube amplifies and/or possibly oscillates).

For the rest: you can do whatever you like: SE, PP, hybrid, whatever .. so long as we see some WHITE LIGHT.

The speakers used are the Altec loudspeakers that where present last year. They work well with a few watts to start with (a SE 45 worked fine last year). The gain of the amplifiers should be between 20 and 30 dB. Inputs should be cinch / RCA type, outputs should be female banana plugs (4mm).

So sign up ASAP and stay tuned for more …

Best regards,

Emile Sprenger & Guido Tent
