Try the shop I visited here:
Real electronics/audio shops Sadly, Mr Chan died two years ago, but I am told that the shop lives on.

Hi,
I've just emailed redwine to ask what the other DIY places in Central and on Kowloon might be. Hopefully we'll be able to report back on the other thread what we find. Cheers Jon |

If anybody knows of other good locations of parts in other cities in the People's Republic of China, perhaps you could post here also. I visit Beijing and Shanghai with work and would love to dig around for parts in those cities.
Thanks, Chris |

If you can get a good guide and interpreter you might consider the TJ factory in Tianjin China. This factory is located not too far from Beijing.
Not really on the tour route. If you can get in you will be very amazed. Check out the info on the DIYHIFI site. Good luck
