WARNING: Tube/Valve amplifiers use potentially LETHAL HIGH VOLTAGES.
Building, troubleshooting and testing of these amplifiers should only be
performed by someone who is thoroughly familiar with
the safety precautions around high voltages.
I have bought a few (4) SE output transformers 2,5K/8 and max 3W.
Is there any good ideas of output tubes that can handle these?
Looking for a cheap solution, so no 2A3.
50c5/12cw5/6cw5, (7 pin miniature) or the octal equivalents, 50L6GT and the like. There are a lot of small radio output tubes that are designed to run on low plate voltages ( 120-160vB+) that need a 2.5k primary.
My vote is for the 6c45pi. I find that I can get by with this with my
cd player with no preamp. There is a Tiny Apmpifier thread on our
tube forum to look at too.
