Recommended tubes for AI Modulus 3A, C-J MV55 and Moscode 300
I would like tube recommendations regarding tthe
1)Moscode 300 power amp 2) Audible Illusions Modulus 3A preamp 3) Conrad-Johnson MV55 power amp Regarding the C-J MV55 would NOS (vintage) Siemens/Mullard EL34 tubes be better than, say new production EH, Svetlana or Mullard EL34's? Regarding the AI Modulus 3A, would newer 6H23 Type 3 tubes be better than NOS Amperex Bugle Boys or PQ's, which are said not really made for high voltages and would be torn to shreds in the Modulus 3A? Regarding my Moscode 300, which currently has two each of 6DJ8 and 6FQ7 tubes...what brand tubes would anyone recommend who knows this amplifier. All comments welcome |
