Default jack probs

hey everyone i just put my head in shop to be fixed because of alot of cackling and cuttin out on the low input channel well ig ot it back anbd it was worse so i plan on tacklin it myself
i kno its a loose jack connection or sumthin to have to do w/ the jack. when i push up on the jack its crystal clear soon as i let go the problems start again, what should i do?

It sounds like you are describing a 1/4'' female jack, if so replace it because its worn out.

They cost $5. You need a female, "shorting-type". Yes, you will need to solder a resistor and two connections. Schematics of most amps can be found on the web, and will show the jack wiring.

lead = big bit of wire with plugs on, used to connect amp to guitar...

Sounds like its definitely your socket /jack though. Just swap it out for a new one, or find a friend who can do it for ya!

BTW why didnt the shop fix that? I hope you didn't give them any moneys.

the shop insisted it was dirty pots, i bought it from them, brought it back, they kept it for 2 1/2 weeks and gave it back-and it sounded worse, i didn't pay them anything because of a warranty type deal....how much do soder guns run at?
