btw there are atually two almost identical threads. Long story. But the longer thread is

Moskido - Hybrid Aikido/MOSFET amplifier

You might want to check it out.

I got the MOSFETs from RS Components. But you can get them on ebay

Yes, i just figured that out, and have merged the 2 threads. beau2317 you are not supposed to start 2 threads with the same title & same post or you end up with confusion as we just had here- i deleted the post with which you started the 2nd thread .

There may be some posts that are no longer relevant... mail me with the post numbers 7 i'll clean it up

I guess simple PS with big toroid, Hexfred rectifier and Panasonic or BC components caps. And not to forget a zobel, aka snubber.
I will replace the standard 15A bridge with hexfreds and add snubber on my hybrid's current PS.

That's pretty much what I did. The circuit I used is on page 3 of this thread. I forgot to put in 0.1uF caps across each diode on the bridge.

That seems to work OK. The amp is very quiet (apart from when music is being played

And leave it that way, no caps across diodes. I tried that with the standard 15A rectifier, and removed it after a 1/2 hour listening.
The added diodes will create a hf-pass from toroid to DC PS, not the best imo. Better is to filter HF away on the +/-DC voltages with (the before mentioned better) lytics and maybe some small film caps extra.

I wonder if the rather high resistor value's from the C-R-C filter doesn't raise the PS impedance too much.
I only used two 0.1 or 0.2 ohm resistors in AC line before bridge to dampen diode noise. But will add 0.12 in DC line when i fit the hexfreds/snubber.

The lytic i used are only 10000uF Panasonics, cheap and good. I don't like very high lytic cap value's: Have rebuild a EL84 SE tube amp with bigger caps. It never sounded as it did with 25uF/channel! This was a tube amp though, and for high currents in solid state the greater values are needed.

The common mode RF filter on filament ps is interesting!

I figure that the PS impedance is dominated by the last caps. Down side is it's wasteful, but class A amps are wasteful anyway.

Advantage of larger R is that the filtering is more effective..swings and roundabouts I guess.

That seemed to help. Also my friend put on on his version and was also surprised at the improvement.

Any chance of posting a complete list of components with power ratings?

regards
