 Made some progress.Rectification is solid state followed by a single 6AX4. Not enough space for another 5v transformer. And I reckoned the 6X5 would be a little fragile. Last edited by Bas Horneman; 7th June 2012 at 11:24 PM. |

Okay, you guys have motivated me to get mine in a case. Bas and Buzz, forgive me in advance as I am going to steal bits of your chassis design to make mine.
Here it is now, and has been for almost 6 mos. Since it is staying it is time to make it safe with a decent WAF. I will keep you posted. Looking forward to getting in the woodshop.

How much of the circuit's quality is depending on the stiffness of the power supply? I mean, is the active regulation (and fixed heater current) obligatory for good operation?
NB Bas, are you gluing in the transformers and capacitors?
