Default White CF with 6SN7

I have a few 6DN7 lying around. Thinking to build a headphone amp. Where can I find schematic of White Cathode Follower with 6SN7?

Had a Xiangshen 708B amp, which is a 6dj8 White CF. Kind of missing the open sound of it. 6SN7 is suppose to put out a bit more power than 6dj8?

See the "MingDa MC-7R noise and gain" thread.
First post there has a schematic showing a 12AU7 White Cathode Follower output section. Use that stage exactly as shown but with 6SN7 in place of 12AU7. It should not need any changes.
Cheers,
Ian

I'd probably make the changes I recommended to that design rather than blindly build what's shown. Stock apparently it doesn't sound all that good according to the guy who initiated the thread. (I've never heard one, but I have built and listened to similar.)

Why not build John Broskie's Aikido instead? It sounds good, and has quite a following here. (See the tubecad website.)

Here is a similar schematic: earphone amplifier with 6N1 or 6N6 (from web). You can try modify a little and do it yourself!

Aikido output Z might be a bit high for some phones. However, there is a White CF variant of it that might be of interest.

Thanks for the replies.

kevinkr, I have checked TubeCAD. I think White CF will output more current than the Aikido. Am I missing something?

xaviery, the schematic looks like a regular CF. 6SN7 might not be good candidate for the job. I had a 6AS7 CF Wooaudio 3 before, did not like the sound of it.

I like WCFs and use them in my linestage out... I've had good experience with higher transconductance tubes... in the preamps I built the 5687 or 6922 seems to sound more snappy than the 6CG7. Tubecad is useful for determining the ballpark output-z if you are making a headphone amp.
