strange noises from ECL86 amp

Yea I didn't notice any difference in sound with triode strapping- even the power level seemed the same.

Do you mean that with plate to plate feedback, Pentode mode sounds as good as triode strapped mode?

Just to update everyone, the amp has been running nearly everyday for the last few weeks with no noises!

So the cure seems to have been cleaning the pins. I also replaced the 12AU7/AX7 with sovtek and EH ones. So after these steps, the noises seem to have gone. Having said that, when I go home tonight and have a listen, the amp will make the noise!
