amorphous iron core good or not

I just finally bought my output xfmr's for my push pull amp. I got the amorphous core's the lundahl ll9202am and am kind of worried if I jumped the gun or not.

Are the amorphous core as good as they say they are?

Law of diminishing returns comes into play here, but your already in hundreds dollars for vanilla Lundahls...

The OPT is the heart of your amp.

Some like amorphous cores, some like vintage EI. It all sounds great, it just has different character. Amorphous core trannys give very nice high ranges.

Less hysteresis and eddy current losses for amorphous core, these losses go up with frequency.

Well I think that it was a better buy in my case sense I'm using a fairly impedence tube.

I believe amorphous iron core OPT's are good. Why don't you build the amp with it and try it out yourself.

If you don't like it, sell them on Ebay.

F7001 is Permalloy cores and F5002 is Amorphous core. They are both 3K, 8W.

Can the price tell you the different?
Also the frequency response, F7001 is 15-60K. It is pretty good. F5002 is 10-100K. F5002 is a well known the best transformer for 300B. So, I think Amorphour cores is better. My main concern is lundahl can handle this new material good or not.

slightly different application - but my RAKK DAC uses a Lundahl LL1674 Amorphous line transformer - I've been very pleased with the sound.

Would such high ratings of 100k be bad, if the amp started oscillating at full power which would blow the tweeters?
