RIAA Phono Pre-Amp for Tubelab SSE

I need an RIAA Phono Pre-Amp for the Tubelab SSE that I am building. Much like the directions and help in this forum for the Tubelab products. I need something fairly simple that does a quality job. I have looked at a myriad of these available in the other forums here on diyAudio and the more I read the more confusing it gets. Has anyone built anything like this? Tube or SS doesn't matter.

Vista Audio - one step ahead

It works a treat and whilst I have enjoyed building the SE330B I'm not sure I could have worked out how to out together a really good RIAA phono.

I built one of Richards VSPS mono kits (no longer available) 3 years ago and I am considerig building his emerald boards. He will sell kits. I upgraded the loading resistors and the output caps.

There is the Salas simplistic and folded solid state and valve itch phono stages. I have built the solid state unit and have been very happy. There were/are kits available in the group buy forum and Salas is great at supporting his designs

Thanks everyone. evanc I am very interested in the valve itch phono stages, just hard to find someone who has built it and pictures, I am probably looking in the wrong place. And I am leaning towards a tube phono preamp.

If you want to avoid building from scratch: Look on eBay for EAR 834P; then if you feel like it you can do some of the mods and upgrades well talked about on the 'net.
