SSE preflight check

newbie needs help!

-Hammond 6k7vg
-Hammond 193j choke
-supplemental capacitor
-Hammond 1628sea OPT
-solid state rectifier (will change to 5ar4 later)

i measured the B+ (R4), the reading is 536v DC. (without any tubes)
isn't it too high? 12at7 pin1 and 6 reading is also 536v. and i got nothing on the R17/R27.

appreciated anyone can help!!!

Those readings may be normal without tubes.

the shielded grey wire from the Hammond 6k7vg, should it connected to ground?

Yes, that is how my SSE is wired. The grey wire goes to ground.
